I am currently an In-Network provider for most Cigna and ComPsych Insurance plans.
For all other insurance companies, I am considered an "Out-of-Network Provider" and can provide you with a Superbill to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
To determine if you have mental health coverage through your insurance carrier, the first thing you should do is call them. Check your coverage carefully and make sure you understand their answers. Some helpful questions you can ask them:
What are my mental health benefits?
What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
How many therapy sessions does my plan cover?
How much does my insurance pay for an out-of-network provider?
Is approval required from my primary care physician?
Reduced fee services are available on a limited basis.
Cash, check, and credit cards accepted for payment.
If you do not show up for your scheduled therapy appointment, and you have not given me notice at least 24-hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session.
"Good Faith Estimate"
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
